Rediscover Your Dreams When You’ve Lost Sight Of Them

Written By Donna-Marie  |  Mindset, Retreats

Be Honest, Lovely… When Was the Last Time You Thought About Your Dreams?

Not the grocery list.
Not the school pickup schedule.
Nor your next work deadline.
And not the business you’re building or the emails waiting to be answered.

But your dreams.
The deep, soulful kind... the ones that light you up. The ones that feel like they belong to you — and only you.

If you’re struggling to remember... you’re not alone.

So many women I speak with tell me, often with tears in their eyes, “I don’t even know what I want anymore.”
And every single time, I tell them the same thing:

There’s nothing wrong with you. You’ve just been in 'giving' mode for too long or living life how you think you 'should'.

Rediscover Your Dreams... Reignite Your Life

Life Happens — and Sometimes, We Get a Little Lost

Somewhere along the way, many of us learn to prioritise everyone else’s needs above our own.

We become caregivers, business owners, partners, team players, nurturers.

We adapt... we serve... we juggle.

And we keep telling ourselves we’ll make space for our dreams when things settle down.

But here’s the thing…

Life rarely settles down. And unless we’re intentional, our dreams can slowly fade into the background — not because they don’t matter, but because we forget to tend to them.

We lose sight of them. Or we think we shouldn't want them. Perhaps we think there are more important priorities than our 'silly' dreams.

And with that, we lose a little bit of ourselves too.

The Good News? They’re Still There.

Even if you haven’t thought about your dreams in years…
Even if you feel disconnected from the person you used to be…
And yes, even if it all feels foggy or “too late”...

Your dreams are still within you.

They're waiting patiently, whispering softly, hoping you’ll turn down the noise long enough to hear them again.

And when you do, that, my beautiful friend, is when everything starts to shift.

How To Start Finding Your Way Back

So, what can you do when you feel like you’ve lost sight of your dreams?

You don’t need to know all the answers. And you certainly don’t need a 10-step plan. You just need to begin. Gently. Lovingly. With curiosity and kindness.

Here’s where I suggest starting:

1. Make space to listen

Your dreams won’t shout over the chaos. They need quiet. Reflection. Slowness.

Even just 10 minutes a day to breathe, journal or go for a solo walk can help you reconnect with the part of you that knows.

Ask yourself:

  • What did I used to dream about?
  • What do I crave now — even if I haven’t admitted it out loud?
  • And what lights me up… also, what drains me?

There are no wrong answers — only breadcrumbs.

2. Let go of the guilt

It’s okay if you’ve put yourself last. It’s okay if you forgot your dreams for a while. That doesn’t mean you’re selfish for wanting more now.

You’re allowed to change.
You are allowed to want something different.
You’re allowed to dream again — even if your dream looks completely different from what it used to be.

This isn’t about abandoning the people or responsibilities you care about. It’s about remembering you matter too.

3. Stop waiting for the perfect time

Spoiler alert: it doesn’t exist.

There’s always going to be something that feels unfinished or not quite right — and that’s okay.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. You just need to start nurturing your desires again, even in small ways.

Write it down. Speak it out loud. Follow what feels exciting. One step is enough to begin.

4. Surround yourself with inspiration and support

You don’t have to do this alone. Sometimes we need others to reflect back what we’ve forgotten about ourselves.

Whether it’s a friend, a mentor, a coach or a retreat space — surrounding yourself with people who see you can be life-changing.

Especially when you feel unsure, stuck or like you’re trying to remember who you were before life got so busy.

My Dream Was Hiding Too

Can I tell you something personal?

There was a time — not that long ago — when I couldn’t clearly name my own dreams either.

I was doing the work, supporting others, showing up... but inside, I felt like I was floating through someone else’s to-do list.

It wasn’t until I created space for stillness (and gave myself permission to want more) that my dreams started resurfacing.

That’s why I created my retreat — because I know how powerful it is to have a space that’s just for you. A space to pause, breathe, reflect and to reignite your spark.

This Retreat Is For You If You…

  • have lost sight of what you really want
  • have been in survival mode and need a reset
  • are craving something more, but are not sure what that is yet
  • want time to reflect, re-imagine and reconnect — without pressure
  • would love the support of like-minded women who get it.

This isn’t about fixing yourself, because, Gorgeous... you’re not broken. It’s about remembering who you are and what matters to you.

Whether your next dream is to start something new, change something old or simply feel more like yourself again... you’re so welcome here.

Let This Be Your Turning Point

You don’t have to stay in the fog.

You don’t have to figure it all out alone.

And you definitely don’t have to keep ignoring the quiet whisper that says, “There’s more.”

If you’re ready to reconnect with your dreams and yourself, I’d love to invite you to my upcoming retreat.
