How To Use Video Marketing To Boost Your Business

video marketingOne of its advantages of marketing on the Internet is the overall cost-effectiveness and affordability. But there are other reasons why you should consider web video marketing as part of your business’ marketing plan.

The internet is becoming more and more social. People like interacting and sharing. And videos work well in this environment.

Plus … the search engines really like videos. You will often find that reasonably new videos will rank well in the search engines faster than a new website will. (Although including your videos on your website is a good strategy too).

There are a number of different types of videos you can use, including:

Product Launch Videos:

As the name suggests, this is a type of promotional video that can be used to announce the arrival of a new product. This, however, is not a new concept. Various industrial firms and organisations have been using these techniques for decades. But now this medium is more affordable for small businesses without large marketing budgets. (Yay!)

Product Review Videos:

As the name suggests, these videos review a product – quite often in a positive and productive manner. This video can then be used as a powerful promotional tool.

If someone creates a positive product review video for one of your products or services, it’s worth using within your marketing.

However if you create a range of product review videos for your customers, it’s important to be honest in your reviews and not to simply rave about products you’ll make money from. Having good ethics is essential when reviewing products, on video or via any other medium.

Instructional/Content Videos:

There is no doubt in the fact that the instructional videos are quickly emerging as an extremely popular form of web video marketing. Instructional videos can be something you create and offer for no cost – a great way to demonstrate your skills and expertise and to help others before they’ve spent any money with you.

The aim may be to increase sales through demonstrating your expertise with quality content. But they can also form part of paid training and courses too.

Testimonial Videos:

These types of videos are common and are easy to create. Testimonial videos usually feature customers who have already used the product or service and want to share their experience and results with others.

Viral Marketing Videos:

Viral marketing videos are those where you create a video using content that is so unique, funny or otherwise appealing that it goes ‘viral’ … that is, it’s spread around the internet by people wanting to share it with others.

Each of these types of videos can be effective when used correctly as part of your marketing plan. And best of all, they’re relatively easy and affordable to create and to market.
