Tom and Janna at Inspired Health Strategies have been working hard preparing for the 50 day challenge, where they aim to raise $50,000 in 50 days for the Heart Foundation’s 50th birthday. The campaign will run from 1 June 2009 until 19 July 2009.

I believe the donation area is being managed directly by the Heart Foundation and will be set up before 1 June. Tom and Janna are putting their heart and soul into this project and I encourage anyone who’s able to get behind them.

And someone who’s behind this cause 100% is Steven Essa who you may recall reading about here last week. Steven is running the X-10 Effect Workshop in Sydney on 30th May 2009. To contribute to the 50k in 50 Days Challenge, Steven has kindly offered to donate ALL PROCEEDS from this workshop to the Challenge! Plus, he’s giving away a holiday as an incentive to book – all attendees will go into a draw to win two-night’s accommodation for two people at the Pacific Blue Resort, Nelson Bay.

Have a look at this to find out more about Steven’s generous offer for X-10 Effect attendees or visit the 50k In 50 Days Challenge site to find out more about how you can help.

Did You Know…?

April 9, 2009 · 0 comments

This ‘Did You Know…?’ video is very interesting. In fact, if you actually stop and think about the figures that are given in this, ‘interesting’ is an under-statement – it’s absolutely staggering!

I believe this helps to demonstrate just how huge the Internet is and why I firmly believe there is enough of it for us all to share it as a marketplace. And being a bit of a geek at heart, I have to admit I find these stats really intriguing.

Yours Truly is a cover girl (no, not just in my dreams!)

I’ve been featured in the Inspiring Women section of the special ‘Business Planning’ edition of the Business Mums Magazine. Plus, I managed to get myself on the cover too! How cool is that?

If you’re interested, you can read the feature article, Donna-Marie’s Plan, here. Or visit the Business Mums Magazine site to purchase your own copy of the magazine.

I was recently speaking with an associate who wants to learn a particular skill however she can’t afford to undertake a set course to learn the skills she needs.

While there’s no doubt that professional courses are a great way to learn, unless you specifically need the certification of your qualifications, there are many other ways that you can learn new skills – and they don’t have to cost you anything.

In this particular instance, I suggested that my client visit her local library and borrow a variety of books on the topic. She could also join industry groups where she’s sure to get lots of helpful tips as well as access to a range of resources. Another good way to learn is to find out who the industry leaders are or who are considered amongst the best at this particular skill. Then find out if they run any coaching programs or even if they offer a regular newsletter. By subscribing to their newsletter you can learn a wealth of great information as well as getting great tips, referrals to other useful resources or special offers for up-coming products or events that may be useful.

So if there’s something that you would like to learn or refresh your skills at, don’t just look for the obvious. Think outside the square and you’re sure to come up with a few good ideas.

Warmly,

Donna-Marie

Happy 2009

January 5, 2009 · 2 comments

Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a fresh, bright start to 2009.

To start the year on a high note, the Small Business Diva blog has officially migrated to www.Donna-MarieCoggins.com. There are still a few minor tweaks and ‘techie things’ to be sorted but it should all be fine-tuned before too long.

I’ve been so busy with work, my own new products and all these changes but am looking forward to getting back in the swing of writing posts here regularly again.

Here’s to a safe, happy, prosperous and abundant 2009 for us all!

Warmly,

Donna-Marie

I recently found out that one of my long-term clients nominated me for Australia’s prestigious 2008 Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards.
