Olivia at Piktorize has written about Support Networks for Mums in Business. I believe that support networks of groups and individuals are an essential aspect not only for successful businesses, but also for life in general.
For me, my leading support networks include:
- Fellow members of the Brisbane Business Coffee & Chat Clubs (Everton Park and Thornlands)
- Business Mums Network and several individual members in particular
- The VAIG Forum - Virtual Assistant Internet Group, particularly Kathie Thomas
- Lynette and various members of Women’s Network Australia
- My commerades – Heart Harmony’s Ingrid Cliff, d’Scriptive Words’ Beverley Neil and Wild Dog Designs’ Jo Pollard. We have recently been working together to help support and encourage each other with some amazing results.
I know my business wouldn’t be as successful as it is today if not for the encouragement and advice from my various support networks.
So where to you go for support? I’d love to hear from you, especially from those of you who aren’t located in Australia.

The advice I have received from so many fellow business owners from the support networks I am involved with has been fantastic! It’s such a blessing to receive the advice and support of so many amazing and talented WAHMs!
WAH Business owners are often isolated from the “in real life” business networks, especially if they’re parents. That’s why online communities like Business Mum’s network, and similar are so valuable.
It is a blessing to be a part of these communities, and to meet the inspiring business owners within.
